Preparation of the ingredients before you start cooking

Preparing before you start cooking is a great way to save time if you're a beginner chef. Depending on the amount of time you have available to cook, it may make sense to limit your stovetop cooking to just one or two meals per day. You can also add non-cooking ingredients. Once you have your kitchen set up, you can begin cooking your first meal, usually the one that takes the longest. This could be an oven or soup recipe. Cold meals, on the other hand, can be prepared while the rest of the meal is in the oven.

Proper kitchen equipment

No matter whether you cook at home or take it to the table, you'll need some basic equipment for your kitchen. Some of the most essential items are basic cooking utensils. Nonstick pans are a must-have, as they are easy to clean and can be used in a variety of ways. A good nonstick pan is recommended for frying eggs. For many different tasks, a flat spoon made of wood is useful.

Avoiding overcrowding the pan

It is a good idea to not overload a pan while cooking. First, it will reduce the temperature of the pan. It won't brown the food as fast or let go of its moisture. A second reason is that food will not brown or release its moisture as quickly if it is too full. To remove food from the pan easily, use a spoon. Avoid overcrowding the saucepan to get tender, delicious food every time.

How to make a perfect omelet

Omelets is one of my favourite breakfast foods. But how do they turn out so perfectly? Many different recipes and methods have failed to work for me. I have some tips and tricks to help you make delicious, fluffy omelets every single morning.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. The eggs must be fresh from an organic source and kept at room temperature until they are ready to be cooked. If they are not kept cold enough, the whites won’t form properly. The yolks will also break down too quickly and become runny. This causes your omelets to look oddly colored. If you're going to cook them immediately, it is best if the eggs are still warm.

Another tip is to separate the egg before adding it to the pan. You don't want any white to get mixed up with the yolk because this could cause the omelet to curdle.

If you add the egg directly onto the stovetop, you might end up burning the bottom part of the egg, which would ruin the texture of your omelet. Instead, place the egg in the microwave for 10 second before you put it in the skillet. The microwave heat will cook the egg just right without making it too hot.

Let's now talk about mixing eggs. When mixing eggs, it is important to thoroughly beat them. You need to turn the bowl of the mixer upside down. Then, vigorously shake the bowl. By doing this, the egg is thoroughly mixed with the air in the bowl.

The fun part is now - adding the milk to the mixture. First, pour half of the milk into the beaten eggs and then fold the eggs gently into the remaining milk. You don't need to worry if streaks remain. They will disappear once you flip your omelet.

After folding the eggs, place the pan on medium heat and wait for the oil to start sizzling. Once the oil begins to heat, add 1/4 cup butter and swirl the pan to coat it. Next, carefully open the lid and sprinkle salt into your pan. Salt will prevent the omelet sticking to the pan.

Once the omelet forms, cover the pan again. Let the top side set completely. Use a spatula to flip the omelet or turn the pan upside-down. Cook the second side for a minute or so. Take the omelet out of the pan and immediately serve.

This recipe works best when you use whole milk.
